I have a beach-filled trip coming up soon, so my thoughts have turned to swimwear. Usually, I’m not bothered about whether my swim looks are in fashion or not. But I am loving the trends this year!
Some of last year’s swimwear trends are still going strong. However, there are plenty of new ones to add to your suitcase. Here are the six key looks you’ll be seeing on beaches and at the pool this summer.
Belted One-Pieces
This season’s one piece is block colored with a wide, waist-defining belt. The most popular styles of all have a metal buckle or decorative plaque at the front.

Chunky Buckles
Chunky ‘release’ buckles have been appearing on the belts of one-pieces. However, they’re also a 2019 swim trend in their own right. Done in plastic or metal, you’ll also find them as strap connectors and as purely decorative details.

Animal prints of all varieties are back in a big way. I’m not sure leopard ever really went out of style. But snake skin is having a fashion moment for the first time in a while.
