June is here, and the sun is shining! It’s finally time to start getting excited about swimwear all over again. Some things never go out of style at the seaside, like a nautical stripe or a classic black one-piece. But what if you crave something a little more fashion-forward?
Below I’ve rounded up 24 stylish swimsuits and bikinis that show off three of this season’s hottest swimwear trends. From skyscraper leg lines to chunky ties, here’s what’s flooding the shoreline, and the pool, this summer.
The Bardot Neckline
The classic bandeau has had a Bardot makeover. This season, it’s all about a strapless neckline trimmed with a fabulously, flouncy ruffle that wraps all the way around the body. Or a strapless look with short, cuff-style sleeves that drape around the upper arm.
It’s the perfect swim style if you want a line-free tan on your shoulders and décolletage. Worried about it slipping down when you go for a swim? Look for a piece that comes with detachable shoulder straps.

This 80s-inspired swimwear trend has been making a comeback for a couple of years now. This summer, however, brands are taking the iconic high-legline to the extreme. It’s not just a slightly-higher-than-usual cut. I’m talking a hipbone-baring shape that reaches practically to the waist.
Because they expose your upper thigh in full, high leg cuts will make your legs look extra-long. Though bear in mind that less coverage at the front means less coverage at the back too. Remember to check all the product images to know if you are buying a thong style or not!

Goodbye thin, strappy little bows. This season it’s being replaced by a much less dainty knot. Specifically, the on-trend feature is a short and chunky tie that joins together the cups. It’s a small detail that adds a wonderfully casual, effortless type of cool to your swim look.
A front knot fastening is also a great way to boost your cleavage on the beach without resorting to padding. Just tie it a little tighter to cinch things inwards! Assuming, of course, that the tie detail is functional and not just a decorative one that’s sewn on top.
