When I first started writing about lingerie years ago, I developed some deeply held opinions about certain brands.
Some were for older women, boring, or just weren’t my style. Lots of brands have changed designers and styles over the years, so I thought today we’d highlight my list of ‘most improved.’ Some of these are mall brands, others are online or boutique only, but all are worth your time and your money.
1. Goddess
Goddess used to be associated with frumpy and more retro pieces, but they’ve revamped their designs significantly in recent years. Stylish new colors and prints have been added to their most popular cuts like the Kiera while their construction remains solid.
2. Sculptresse
You know Sculptresse for its basics and access to the favorite Chi Chi bra frame in plus-sizes. But they’ve also started putting out some amazing fashion pieces each season. The Dionne was a standout last season and this season’s Chi Chi has a lovely floral print and a deep purple color.

Elila is another brand that has branched out from its more traditional offerings. I honestly think their fashion offerings are some of the best in the business right now. Their Tulip and Glamour Embroidery sets are show-stopping and offer a fantastic fit in a wide range of cup sizes.
4. Lane Bryant and Cacique Intimates
Torrid was the plus-size place to go for cute bras and swimsuits for years, but Lane Bryant has updated their designs to compete. They’ve recently released an adorable mini-collection for Pride and some killer bras and swimsuits for summer. If your image of Cacique is a line for older and more conservative ladies, then you might want to give it a second look.

Eloquii is getting into the lingerie and loungewear game, and their first collection was impressive! They’ve always been a retailer for Oh La La Cheri, but their first collaboration with Cosabella was pretty much perfection.

Hanky Panky has a quietly beautiful plus-size line that you should consider. It has everything from basic thongs to gorgeous soft slips. They’re even extending sizes in more of their signature prints (although I wish they’d commit to making matching camis and panties also). They’re a high-quality line that is worth your time and budget.

Torrid is an excellent shopping destination for their amazing swimsuit line alone, but their lingerie has also expanded. They now carry a huge range of t-shirt bras in fun prints along with their traditionally amazing bralettes. Their ‘Fangirl’ line has also been extended to underwear so you can now pick up tributes to all of your favorite movies and shows.
