Even if you’re limited to wearing it on weekends, a good loungewear piece is worth the investment. You get what you pay for as luxury loungewear is as comfortable as it is beautiful. Cheap, synthetic fibers such as polyester can get a bit sweaty after a while. That’s not great if you’re buying something to relax in all morning long, or to wear when it’s too hot for your usual clothes.

‘Pajama dressing’ is a hot new trend, not that any of us need an excuse to stay in our PJs all day on occasion. Why wear regular clothes when you can be chic and comfy?

You can’t beat a classic, button-through pajama for timeless elegance, and especially not when it’s crafted from the finest mulberry silk.

Here’s a more budget-friendly version that will inject a pop of color into your life. Who wouldn’t feel bright-eyed, bushy-tailed and ready for the day ahead while sipping their Sunday morning latte in this sunshine yellow ensemble?

And one for those who prefer a shortie bottom. Cotton may seem like an everyday workhorse of fabric, but consider the difference between bargain-store bed sheets and Egyptian cotton ones. These pajamas are made from a premium cotton voile that’s slightly sheer, for a subtle sexiness.

For a more contemporary type of chic, I love this waist-defining cami and high-waisted bottoms set. The glossy silk satin blended with elastane makes for a stretchy, comfortable fit.

Sumptuous Slips

Warmer days call for skimpier loungewear and a looser fit, and the simple slip dress is the ideal solution. Like pajamas, slips have lately been crossing the line from bedroom-attire to day or evening wear. This makes them even more perfect for that not-quite-underwear, not-quite-outerwear niche that is loungewear.

This beautiful bias cut nightgown creates a fluid fit. Plenty of freedom of movement as you recline on the sofa or chaise longue!

Brighten your day with a splash of vibrant color in this modern take on the slip dress, in fuchsia pink silk.

Not all silk is shiny! If you love its soft touch and breathability but want something a little less glossy, how about this floor-sweeping gown in a silk and modal jersey?  Total Hollywood vibes!

This sweet and sexy slip is made from cashmere-blend jersey, making it as comfortable as it is pretty.

This lightweight modal jersey is better suited to warm summer temperatures, with dashes of silk satin at the collar, and sash and hem to enhance the luxury.

The cashmere-blend jersey offers all the comfort of your favorite dressing gown and then some, while the silk sash and deep lace cuffs add a touch of decadence.

If you can’t afford cashmere jersey (or a silk one), bamboo jersey offers many of the same benefits. It’s a soft, natural fabric that wicks away moisture to keep you cool as you kick back and put your feet up.
