The latest lingerie trend to hit stores takes bras in the opposite direction of those worn to show off a plunging neckline. It's the rise (yikes) of high neck bras and bralettes.
It could be these high or halter necks are just an extension of the bralette trend. Like many unstructured foundations, they won't work with all fashions. They may be easier to wear in winter, under heavier sweaters and turtlenecks. But many high neck bras don't look much different from a summer crop top. And others are made to show off. (See also the number of new high neck sports bras.) To be honest, I haven't tried any myself, so I'd love to hear from readers about their experiences.
High neck bras and bralettes come in a range of sizes and styles. You'll find simple, relaxed stretch lace, to sheer and open cup bondage-inspired looks. High neck and halter versions of the bralette have been around for awhile. But now there are structured bras with fixed or optional neckline embellishments, too.
