Vintage inspired lingerie has been all the rage for quite a few years, and the trend is showing no sign of slowing down. And it's no surprise. Lingerie from the 1920s through the 1950s was certainly glamorous, romantic, and seductive. But what was most appealing was its attitude. All that romance and drama were coupled with a playful, flirtatious spirit.
Modern interpretations of vintage classics are easy to wear. Pretty design details include channel stitched cups (a softer take on the bullet bra) or overwires (which create a darling sweetheart neckline). Teddies and bodysuits are crafted in slinky satins with decadent laces, or barely there meshes with art deco motifs. And why wear shapewear when you can indulge in smoothing basques or longline girdles that whittle the waist in style (and encourage you to break out the stockings)?
Many vintage inspired looks are more generously cut, making them figure flattering for a range of ages, sizes, and body types. Showstopper panties have fuller cuts, high waists, and cheeky frills. And the filmy, frothy nylon so popular in the 1950s plays an enticing game of conceal and reveal. Swingy (and daringly transparent) babydolls and frilly dressing gowns are fun and really up the ante in the boudoir.
These fifteen pin-up worthy pieces will add life to your lingerie wardrobe. So have fun! Show them off! Because seriously beautiful lingerie doesn't have to be serious. (Full disclosure: this post contains affiliate links.)
