Let me be honest. This round-up of Mother's Day gift ideas is entirely selfish on my part.

It's pulled from various lingerie images I've run across over the past three to six months. Since I'm both a mother and a grandmother, I choose items I'd love to receive (hint, hint). They might not appeal to everyone, but it's an eclectic mix of styles from well-known to small independent brands. There's something here for everyone, including bed jackets and comfy robes, silk PJs, and fluffy spa slippers.

The best news about shopping for Mother's Day gifts this year? The easy-to-wear Kimono style is trending, along with fabulous floral prints that seem perfect for this celebratory holiday. Many of these pieces (especially silk robes, bed jackets, and sleep cardigan and wrap) double as outerwear. And how can you go wrong giving a woman a pair of relaxing spa slippers or fragrant lavender sachets? Go ahead and indulge her and pair it with a gift certificate for a spa day, too.

This list serves two purposes. First, they're things a partner, mother, grandmother, or daughter-in-law in your life might not buy for herself but would sincerely appreciate (hint, hint). Second, many of them are practical, in that they are machine washable. Some moms spend their weekends dealing with sick or spitting up babies and messy toddlers. These little luxuries bring the focus back on the what feels good on the skin, pleases the eye and nose, and doesn't add any more to a mother's "to do" list. Plus, everyone should own at least one sleep mask, especially if you want to sneak in a quick power nap in the middle of the day.
