You know it's an official lingerie fashion trend when Victoria's Secret gets in on the action. They're making headlines by moving beyond padded cups and offering new bralette styles.

But bralette styles aren't really "new." (They look more like one of the first modern bra prototypes.) It's a style that has gone in and out of fashion, depending on the decade.

Why so much hype about bralettes today? It might be because, in some cases, they are less complicated and expensive to make than cup-sized bras. They don't usually require hooks, wires, and cups. And there's no need for band and cup sizing either.
